The Argentiera Estate winery stands on a plateau in the Maremma countryside of the Etruscan coast, dotted with forts with sighting towers built by the Medici family to protect the area from attacks from the sea. Suspended between woods and Mediterranean scrub, it dominates the sea, built in an area once rich in silver mines and healing waters, suitable for the production of the Bolgheri DOC wine.

The design of the winery aims to respect the architectural styles of the area using recycled materials to seek harmony with the surrounding landscape. The project aims at combining the forms of the past with modern energy efficiency techniques, particularly required in the production of wine. The important thickness of the walls guarantees the correct natural thermoregulation of the internal environments, suitable for a correct processing of grapes in all phases of wine production.

The surrounding nature must be the protagonist and for this reason olive trees and vineyards cover part of the underground building.
